Equipment

  • Boston shaker (or cocktail shaker)
  • Jigger or measuring tool
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • Hawthorne strainer
  • Coupe or martini glass
  • Ice

Ingredients

  • 45 ml vodka
  • 30 ml Kahlúa (or coffee liqueur)
  • 30 ml cold drip coffee
  • Optional: 3 coffee beans (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Chill the Glassware
Place your martini or coupe glass in the freezer, or fill it with ice water. A cold glass keeps the cocktail at the perfect temperature and enhances presentation.

  • Build the Cocktail Base
Add fresh ice to a shaker. Pour in 45 ml vodka, 30 ml Kahlúa, and 30 ml of cold drip coffee. Each component contributes to a balance of boozy warmth and rich coffee flavor.
  • Shake with Intention
Shake vigorously for about 15–20 seconds. You want a good froth for that classic espresso martini foam. The shaker should feel ice-cold in your hands when it's ready.

  • Strain and Serve with Style
Empty your chilled glass. Double strain the mixture into the glass to ensure a smooth pour. Garnish with three coffee beans, if desired, for aroma and flair.
